3rd – 5th Specialty: Storytelling & Scriptwriting

Bring whole new worlds to life with ideas from your creativity. YOU could be the next JK Rowling. Learn to turn ideas for characters, stories, worlds into pages for actors and scripts. Students in this class will work to create new original stories, dramatize them and bring them to life. Special focus is given to group storytelling, collaboration, narration, plot structure with an end goal of performing their own original works.

Skills Focus:
• Basic scriptwriting including plot, structure and character
• Storytelling
• Creative idea generation
• Acting/creating characters
• Working with an ensemble to build ideas and story

3rd – 5th Acting 2: Diary of a Wimpy Kid*

Designed for the student who is ready for “the next level”. You’ve taken classes and performed in a show or two, and yet, you’re hungry for more! Push yourself to the limit using scenes and material from the popular series “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”. Students will work on memorizing longer pieces while staying in character from start to finish. If you’re looking to step up your game with your acting, this is the class for you.. *Pre-requisite: Any combination of 3 CTWS classes/summer camps

Skills Focus:
• Developing a character back-story/profile
• Exposure to a variety of theatrical literature
• Working with and off scene partners
• Character development
• Staging “beats” and physical development
