Auditions for the Fall 2026 Productions at the Children's Theatre

All 3 productions have auditions that are open to currently enrolled Children's Theatre students in Fall 2026. Auditions do not guarantee casting for any production. You should audition for the show you are most interested in participating in!

K-12th Grade Musical: Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella

Auditions: September 19th and 20th

General Rehearsal Schedule: Mondays 7pm-9pm, Wednesdays 4pm-7pm, Saturdays 9am-1pm

    1. All students should prepare the group song "The Prince is Giving a Ball". You'll sing this in small groups, so don't worry about singing a solo!
    2. If you want to audition for a lead character, you should also prepare one of the optional solos.
  4. Arrive 10 minutes early to auditions with a parent/guardian who can confirm your conflicts and ask any questions.
  5. Callbacks are scheduled for Sunday, September 20th from 4pm-6pm. We will let students know if they get a callback about an hour after your audition group is done.
  6. The cast and crew list will be announced on Wednesday, September 23. The first rehearsal and Parent Meeting is Saturday, September 26 at 9am.

 

9th-12th Grade Play: Macbeth

Auditions: September 23 and 24

General Rehearsal Schedule: Sundays 5pm-9pm, Mondays 7pm-9:30pm, Tuesdays 7pm-9:30pm, Wednesdays 7pm-9:30pm, Thursdays 7pm-8pm

    1. Students should prepare TWO monologues ahead of time. They can be from different characters, or the same character.

  6. PLEASE NOTE: This show has an ensemble! If you are interested in being a part of this show, but don't feel super comfortable with Shakespeare yet, still come audition and give it a shot! We need a big cast!

 

3rd-8th Grade Play: What Happened After Once Upon a Time

  2. You can select any of the 3 shows to join the crew for. No need to audition!
  3. Students in grades K-5 will generally be on an age-appropriate crew doing various special projects. Students in grades 6th and up can select specific crews they want to be a part of that meet at certain times.
  4. Reminder: we have a Crew Clock policy for our Mainstage Musicals! If you are in the cast of 3 Mainstage shows in a row, you must crew the next show you participate in. This policy does not apply to the two plays.

Step into Shakespeare's dark and thrilling tale of ambition, betrayal, and fate.  Filled with haunting prophecy, intense drama, and unforgettable characters, this gripping production explores how the pursuit of power can corrupt even the noblest of hearts.  See why Shakespeare continues to engage audiences centuries after it was written. Presented by our high schoolers in our intimate Cattell Theatre.

 

What Happened After Once Upon a Time

  • Children's Theatre Fall Play
  • November 13-15, 2026

A Substitute narrator is called in on short notice to present stories from a stack of fairy tale books.  But just as each tale begins its "once upon a time," the main characters show up to interrupt and correct the narrator's telling of their story! It's up to the characters to comfort the narrator and explain what really happened after "once upon a time."  Wouldn't you know?  Everyone lived happily ever after, of course! Presented by our 3rd-8th graders in our Cattell theatre.

Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella

Experience the timeless magic of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, a charming, family-friendly musical filled with unforgettable songs, dazzling romance, and a story of hope, kindness, and transformation.  This beloved classic brings fairy tale enchantment to life with humor, heart, and spectacular stage magic perfect for audiences of all ages. Presented by K-12th graders on our Mainstage.

Rumors by Neil Simon

  • March 12-14, 2027

In this fast-paced comedy, four wealthy couples attend a dinner party that quickly spirals into chaos when they discover their host has shot himself (don't worry, it's only a flesh wound) and his wife is missing!  As the guests try to cover up a situation to avoid scandal, misunderstandings and hilarious lies pile up.  With sharp dialogue and farcical mayhem, the play pokes fun at marriage, friendship, and social status. Presented by our high schoolers in our intimate Cattell theatre.

Stories Under the Big Top

  • Spring Play
  • March 19-21, 2027

Come one!  Come all! Step right up! Watch the greatest stories on earth come alive under the big top! It's a circus full of laughter and lively storytelling as the ringmaster and players perform a variety of well-known tales such as "The Bremen Town Musician", "The Billy Goats Gruff", "The Lion and the Mouse". "Monkey See Monkey Do" the "The Magic Fish", and more! Presented by our 3rd-8th graders in our Cattell Theatre.

Disney The Lion King

  • Spring Musical
  • April 16-25, 2027

Celebrate the wonder and epic adventure of The Lion King, the beloved story of courage, family, and finding your place in the "circle of life".  Filled with classic songs and some of Disney's best characters, this spectacular production follows Simba's journey from playful cub to rightful king. Presented by our K-12th graders on our Mainstage.
