The Cattell Series: A Conversation with David Eigenberg

TWS is thrilled to welcome back the Cattell Series, our popular conversation series spotlighting professionals from theatre, film, and television. Our next guest is actor David Eigenberg, known for his work on NBC's Chicago Fire and the HBO smash hit Sex and the City.

David grew up in Naperville, IL and made his professional stage debut in One Shining Moment at Drury Lane Water Tower at the age of 19. He appeared on Broadway in Six Degrees of Separation and Take Me Out.

David has appeared in numerous TV shows, and his first recurring role was in Homicide: Life In The Streets. Other TV appearances include The Practice, ER, King of Queens, Third Watch, Ghost Whisperer, Criminal Minds, and NCIS. Film appearances include The Mothman Prophecies, Love Ludlow,  and the voice of Nermal in Garfield: The Movie.

From 1999 -2004, he appeared as Steve Brady, boyfriend and eventual husband of Cynthia Nixon’s character Miranda, in the hit series Sex And The City, and reprised the role in both films and the revival series And Just Like That

David is one the original cast members of the hit NBC series Chicago Fire, playing Christopher Herrmann, the lovable and quirky firefighter and bar owner for 14 seasons. He and his wife have 2 children and currently live in the Chicago area.
