Children’s Theatre COVID-19 Latest Updates

3-15-20
Hi friends,
Thank you again for everyone being gracious and patient. The kindness and respect is nothing less than I'd expect from our incredible CTWS community.

We're starting to get a lot of detail questions as to "what does this mean?" , "What about this process?" and also questions about refunds/credits etc. We are happy to field those! Please understanding that we are all still trying to figure out answers. Our board is meeting virtually tomorrow evening to try and navigate some of this craziness.

Feel free to send any questions to cd@theatrewesternsprings.com. I (Lindsey) will be the central collecting point for running CT questions. We will get to these just as soon as we can and firm decisions have been made. Know that taking care of our families is a high priority for us! Thanks for your patience. Thanks for your awesomeness!

Dear Parents & CTWS/ HSR students,

First, we want to thank you for your flexibility and patience during this unprecedented time as we navigate uncharted waters. We want to communicate how much we appreciate each and every student and family.

However, following other similar organizations and out of concern for the safety of our students, the board voted to suspend TWS' activities, effective immediately, while continuing to monitor the developing COVID-19 situation. Please know that we did not take this decision lightly. We recognize the impact that the community & learning of our classes have in the lives of our students. We know that many of our students were also putting their hearts and hard work into our productions of Almost Maine & The Little Mermaid either on crew or in the cast. Our hope is to be able to resume or reschedule our productions at a later time. We know that there will be many emotions as a result of this decision, and we recognize the loss and sadness that we too share.

Most of you know that our full time office staff consists of only 4 people. We ask that you help us field phone calls by only placing high priority calls, and contact us via email if possible. Please be assured we will get to you as soon as possible.

A few important details for moving forward:
CT classes will not meet until further notice. We will continue to provide updates via email, remind, facebook and our website.
For CLASSES: we will reach out with more details as they become available. We will be communicating soon about what we will be doing around credits and refunds. This may take some time, but we will keep you updated.
For SHOWS: We will be contacting patrons at a later date once we know if we can continue as planned or if the shows will be rescheduled. Rehearsals & crew calls for both shows are suspended until we know more.
For CAMPS: At this point, we fully intend on all camps moving forward as planned.

As you can imagine, this situation has a incredible impact on the arts community and CTWS. We want to be able to return strong and hit the ground running when we do. If you would like to support us during this difficult time, please click here to make a donation. It is so greatly appreciated.

Finally, we are working to offer some free e-classes to our students from our incredible teachers via a video call platform. Stay tuned! We would love to create community and learning however we are able.

Thank you for being a part of the CTWS community. We truly believe that we have the best family of students, parents, faculty and patrons. We are excited to return stronger than ever! In the meantime, keep taking care of one another and being kind.

Lindsey Branson, Children's Director
