CTWS Stacey Spears

Stacey Spears is passionate about empowering her students to be "thinking actors".  She centers her classes around the richness of the rehearsal process - questioning, debating, experimenting with different ideas - to develop artists who are confident in their abilities to contribute their perspectives in meaningful ways.  She has been a music and theatre educator since 1992, and joined the faculty of CTWS in 2023. In her work with students in grades PS-12, she has directed plays, musicals, choirs, hand chime choirs, percussion ensembles, Renaissance fairies, madrigal dinners, radio plays, and improv shows.  Additionally, she has performed onstage in plays and musicals, served in a variety of backstage roles, and toured the US and Canada as a keyboard percussionist with Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps. Theatrical roles include Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible, Jessie Mae Watts in A Trip to Bountiful, Christina Mundy in Dancing at Lughnasa, Carrie Pipperidge in Carousel, and Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd. She is honored to be a part of the development of a new generation of theatre artists!
