A note from the director...
There is no doubt that Theresa
Rebeck takes her characters and
us on a wild ride as she gives
us another of her plays “about
people behaving badly”. But it
is the why of bad behavior, the
reason for this ever-heightening
competition, that’s compelling.
She also gives us several hints
about these characters’ pasts,
how they obtained their flaws,
and thus their motivation to claim
these two tiny slips of paper, no
matter the damage. Unlike stamps,
though, it seems we humans are
devalued as we acquire tread
marks. |
