Come join our team! CTWS is seeking Teaching Artists for our Spring 2023 semester (and beyond!). We offer everything for kids Kdg-12th. To see our current line-up, check out our classes here. We have been in our community for over 70+ years with a history of excellence in education. Classes are held in our working theatre spaces. We offer resources, teaching tools, and paid monthly faculty meetings. Pay is competitive, per hour DOE in the range of $25-$35 per hour.
Especially seeking teachers in:
• K-2 Acting/Musical Theatre
• Jr. High/High School Acting
• Storytelling/Standup
• Physical Comedy/Combat

Responsibilities:
• Teach weekly classes for a semester (January-April)
• Develop and execute syllabus & curriculum planning
• Communicate issues/needs with the Children’s Director
• Ensure a safe working environment
• Create a positive, nurturing environment for students
• Participate in faculty meetings

Skills & Qualifications:
• BA degree in theatre, education or a related field, preferred
• 2+ years of teaching experience as an artist/educator/youth worker
• Transportation to the suburbs in Western Springs
• Strong classroom management
• Enthusiasm & passion for specialty
• Ability to create curriculum ties to the “theme” of the class
• Personable, collaborative and creative
• Responsible and reliable
